Lab AssistantNovomer is an Ithaca, New York based specialty chemicals and materials
company. We have an immediate need to add a part time Lab Assistant to our
team.
The Lab Assistant will help Novomer's team of scientists and engineers in scaling up the production of an innovative class of renewable polymers.
Responsibilities will include:
• Preparing monitoring and cleaning laboratory equipment and work areas including instruments, walls, floors, shelves, tables and sinks;
• Shipping and receiving of lab supplies and chemicals;
• Maintaining and tracking inventory of equipment, chemicals and supplies;
• Preparing reports of completed projects for use in further applied or theoretical research activities;
• Maintaining laboratory notebooks, archives, and sample repository;
• Assisting R&D researchers and engineers as needed
A successful candidate will be reliable, self-motivated, willing to follow procedures effectively and able to work as part of a team in a dynamic fast growing company. Must be able to lift 40 pounds. Opportunity is for 20 hours / week to be scheduled during work hours (weekdays 8am - 5pm).
Competitive hourly pay. Experience working in a lab environment preferred but not required. Current college students (especially in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering) are encouraged to apply.
