PPC polyols can be used in a wide variety of coating applications including: metal can linings for food products; industrial applications like bridges and equipment; wood finishes for furniture and flooring; consumer products like appliances and metal building siding; and protective finishes for the automotive industry.

BPA Free Coatings

Novomer’s polyols also provide a sustainable and BPA free alternative in many food-packaging uses. One specific example is use of our PPC polyols for the coating applied to the inside of metal beverage and food containers. Currently, epoxy coatings that contain bisphenol-A (BPA), are used. BPA can migrate out of the coating over time, and is coming under increased scrutiny as significant health issues are implicated to BPA exposure. Many state and local governments in the US and internationally are drafting legislation regulating the use BPA in food contact applications. Our polymers provide a healthier and more environmentally friendly alternative to current coatings.
