Sources of CO2
When the CO₂-based polymers are commercialized the CO₂ will be sourced from a waste stream. CO₂ is produced as a byproduct of ethanol fermentation, reformers, natural gas wells, and the flue gas from coal-fired power plants. Novomer’s materials could use CO₂ which originates from any of these processes.

Sources of CO
Waste CO is generated in extremely large quantities as a byproduct of steel plants, hydrogen production, and coal gasification. The waste CO is usually combusted as a low grade fuel and CO₂ is formed. Novomer could use the CO from these sources as an input to make useful chemicals.
