Benefits of using waste CO as a raw material to make chemicals include the following:

1. Reduced Fossil Fuel Consumption – Novomer’s chemicals contain up to 40% CO and help reduce the amount of fossil fuel required in synthesis.
2. CO2 Avoidance – Novomer’s acrylic acid process catalytically converts waste CO into useful chemicals. In the process the CO, which normally would be combusted to CO₂, is sequestered for the life of the product.
