Novomer is involved in a range of development activities, from polymer synthesis to application testing. We have successfully transferred our technology from the laboratory to pilot scale with a view towards larger scale commercial production. To date we have synthesized our polymers repeatedly in 25 gallon batches and have demonstrated the process in a 500 gallon reactor. The latter achievement shows that the catalyst system and process are robust enough to withstand a manufacturing environment. Additionally, Novomer is investigating production of our polymers using a continuous flow reactor to continue to improve the economics. Simultaneously, we are testing our polymers in a range of conversion processes that include thin film extrusion to blow molded bottles.
